You are required to include a child custody agreement when you separate or divorce, which outlines how the parents are going to keep offering proper care and support for your child.

You need 2 schedules:

- The holiday and vacation schedule, including where the child is going to spend the special time and how the parent is going to take th child on vacation.
Custody Provisions
These are the special rules for the parents to take responsibilities. For example, many states require that the child custody agreement include the information about the sole or joint custody in the provisions. This means that how you and your ex will share and divide the parenting time for various reposibilities.
This section can also include stipulations on how you are going to resolve disputes. For example, important legal custody decisions have to be made for your child’s education and school activities. You need to have all these clearly defined in the child custody agreement.
Child Support
The type and how much each of you will pay for the support. The numbers have to be calculated and recorded in forms.
Other Documents
Anything you believe important for your child should be included in the custody agreement, such as:
- The amount of time each parent can share with the kid
- Special concerns for education, medication and other physical and psychological care
What If You Don’t Agree?
At this moment, you and your ex may not like to talk to each other too much. Worse, both of you may be fighting for your custody and visitation rights. This is absolutely understandable.
